Our Mission

The mission of this blog is simple; to create an open and honest dialog about identity theft – how it happens, how we can solve it, and everything in between.

The goals of this blog are:

• Create an active discussion on all aspects of identity theft
• Share personal ideas and experiences
• Discuss security options and solutions
• Challenge some of the myths and misunderstandings about identity theft.
• Raise awareness of issues that are not getting enough attention.
• Examine new and anticipated forms of the crime on the horizon.

Identity theft is such a big issue and takes so many different forms, it’s going to be difficult to cover all the important issues in great detail. But we do plan to focus a great deal of attention on issues like:

• The root causes of identity theft and who’s not doing enough to help out.
• Who’s committing identity theft and how the crime is evolving
• The blame game – why finding who’s to blame is so important in fixing the problem
• The changing legal and privacy environment.
• Current and future technology solutions.
• What the financial industry is doing.
• The role of personal responsibility, awareness, and planning.
